This ARI Aircraft Spec Library is provided to give you information, pictures, and specs on the various makes and models of aircraft that may be in the new or used aircraft market place. The vast majority of aircraft in this library are no longer in production, but some of the specs include promotional information from original sales brochures that were used when many of these aircraft were in production. This library is intended to assist you in finding the new or used aircraft that best fits your operational needs and budget.

The information in this library comes primarily from two sources: manufacturers' sales brochures that were obtained at past aviation conventions and the AOPA Pilot Magazine. Over the years the AOPA Pilot Magazine has conducted flight reviews of most of the general aviation (GA) airplanes that are marketed in the U.S., including many models from foreign countries. The specs we obtain from the magazine will generally include either pictures and summary specs about a particular aircraft or selected Pilot flight review articles on various aircraft makes and models. The specs from manufacturers' sales brochures may have more detailed information about each aircraft model.

For many years the Pilot also published a directory of all of the aircraft in the general aviation market place and overviews of specific aircraft makes and models. If you look below at the "Directories" Category you will see a listing of several directories which we obtained from the magazine. The General Aviation Directories contain specs on all of the GA aircraft that were available for sale in a given year. We have included the directories for 1970, 1974, 1980, 1985, and 1988, the last year the directory was published. The Kit-Built Aircraft Directories contain specs on all kit-built aircraft that were available for sale in 1980 and 1986. The Aircraft Mods Directory contains a list of most of the aircraft mods and modifiers that were available in 1982. The Single-Pilot Turbine Directory is a listing of the jet and turbo prop aircraft that were certified for single-pilot operation in 2011.

We plan to continue adding aircraft to the library as time permits and as we receive requests from you. Our personal library of Pilot Magazines go all the way back to December, 1968. However, we are missing all issues before December, 1968 and the following issues since 1968: Oct-69, Nov-71, Jan-75 through Dec-75, and Jan-76 through Oct-76. If you have any of these issues and would consider parting with them, please let us know. These missing issues would provide additional aircraft specs for the library.
